Xiaohan Chen, Chinese mezzo-soprano, is now a resident of the United States. Ms. Chen is an emerging artist in opera and concert works and has performed around the world, most recently with The Atlanta Opera. She is currently a DMA candidate in Opera Performance at the University of Georgia (full scholarship and Graduate Assistant), and holds a Master's degree from the Manhattan School of Music.
Ms. Chen has been teaching voice for over 12 years, and her students have won numerous major awards in voice at all ages, major Students have received master's or doctoral offers from top U.S. conservatories or universities such as Cleveland Institute of Music, The University of Kansas, and Manhattan School of Music.

Ms.Chen is an emerging artist in operatic and concert work. 2022-223 Opera performances: Anonymous Lover with The Atlanta Opera, Postcard from Morocco (hat box lady & foreigner singer), Atlanta Opera 96-Hour Project, Faust (Sibel), Mozart Cosi fan tutte (Dorabella), Albert Herring(Nancy). Opera doctor recital, Competition in Chicago Classical Singer and Atlanta Opera Guild. Also two Doctoral Recital with variable pieces.
Artist at Atlanta Opera house, Fort-worth Opera house. Competition finalist at New York Classical Music Society and Chicago Classical Singer Semi-Finalist. Young artist at The International Vocal Arts Institute, Institute Canadien d’Art Vocal, Miami Music Festival, and FIO Italy Festival. Mezzo soloist at Toronto Xiaoping Hu Chorus, Church of Notre Dame in Manhattan and The promise Church in Queens. 2020-2023 Certificate Artist at US Classical Singer Magazine.
Her solo work and notable concert performances include the online concert “His Light Still Shine” with Fort Worth Opera, “Water Passion” with Tan Dun in Metropolitan Art of Museum, Opera Scenes at New York Lyric Opera Gala at Carnegie Hall. 2021 Ms.Chen performed the contemporary opera A Visit to the country leading role (Tania) with University of Georgia orchestra, also joined the Fio Italia for La Cenerentola (Angelina), the Russian Opera Workshop for Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin (Olga & role study for Larina and Filipievna). 2020 contracted with Miami Music Festival for Carmen (Mercedes), Fort Worth Opera Die Fledermaus (Ensemble), Berlin Opera Academy for Ha?nsel & Gretel (Hansel cover), Gianni Schicchi (La Ciesca), and Sour Angelica (Mistress of the Novices). Previous credits include Carmen(Mercedes), Lakmé(Mallika), Così fan tutte(Dorabella), Cendrillon(Cendrillon&Spirits), Le Nozze Di Figaro(Cherubino). Other opera works include La Cenerentola, Les Contes d’Hoffmann, Orfeo ed Euridice, Der Zigeunebaron, The Dangerous Liasons, L’enfant et les sortilèges.
At the past 3 years, Ms.Chen earned Opera Guild Atlanta finalist, New York Classic Music Society competition finalist, and Chicago Classical Singer competition Semi-Finalist, The North International Music Competition second prize, Ise-Shima International Singing Competition Special prize. She also trained as a young artist at the International Vocal Arts Institute and Canadian Vocal Arts Institute.
She has performed as an opera singer in Manhattan School of Music, Carnegie Hall, Toronto Opera house, Manhattan Symphony Space, Canada CCTV Arts Centre, Washington Kennedy Hall, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Toronto Centre for Arts. She also held recitals in Manhattan School of Music, Ningbo Conservatory, Chicago Recital Hall and Shanghai Anny Recital Hall. She was invited to Toronto TV Chinese gala, China Phoenix TV New Year Gala, New York Notre Dame Christmas Mass, The Boston 8th Asian American Festival and Tan Dun’s Water Passion.
Xiaohan worked with Conductor Pierre Vallet, Tan Du. Director James Robinson, Linda Brovsky, as well as opera coach Kenneth Merrill, Kathryn LaBouff. Voice worked with Frederick Burchinal and Mignon Dunn.
