I contacted Mr Wrangle about a drywall job in the living room of our home. His price was fair and we were going to hire him to do the job. However, we decided to have drywall hung in my home office before beginning the living room project.
I texted Mr Wrangle to see if he would be interested in this project and sent him photos of the room. I explained that this job must be completed before 1/5. He quoted the job, I accepted, and he said that he could meet the deadline.
On Monday 12/31 he texted me at 1030am to say he would be out that evening after finishing another job. He never showed up, never called, never texted.
On Tuesday 1/1 I sent him a text at 9:30am saying that I was headed to the airport but that when he was on the way to let me know so I could give my mother and teenager a heads up. He told me that he would not be out that day but would be there on Wednesday about 6pm. I said I would be back home by 4pm so that was perfect.
On Wednesday 1/2 he called around 530pm to say that he was stuck in traffic but would definitely be out that night and that he would stay as late as needed. He never showed, never called.
Knowing that I had to have this job complete by 1/5 I stayed up until 130am this night hanging drywall myself so that I could put the floor down before furniture was delivered.
On 1/3 he called me at noon to say that he would be by in about 30min. I explained to him that I had completed part of the job myself because I was working with a hard deadline and he had just not shown up or called multiple days in a row.
He was upset and asked “well, are you still going to pay the same amount?!”
“No, I’ve literally had to do HALF of the work... all that’s left to do is hang two sheets of drywall, mud, and sand”.
He explained that it wasn’t worth his time to come out for just that.
Well, needless to say I will not use him for our living room work or any of the other work in our home as we are remodeling the entire thing top to bottom one room at a time and I will caution everyone I know regarding using him as he is not dependable. I have no idea the caliber of his work as I never actually got to see it.
