FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Every job has its own significance. There isn't really a fair formula to doing my work. I don't charge per square foot, because that's a recipe for disaster. Someone always gets the short end of the stick when you try to use a formula to price a job.I always treat every job as its own, and that has always worked for everyone involved.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I walk through, I take in the customer's needs and expectations, and I try to merge those things with my ideas and abilities. If it can be done we plan and move forward, if it can't be done, I don't sell a bill of goods, I approach it honestly with the customer. We then brainstorm, and adjust so the job can be not only practical and safe, but beautiful. That's sometimes a tough balance, but I have never had a problem coming to agreement with a customer along those lines.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've studied estimating software on my own, and I speak with suppliers on a regular basis to stay on top of the trending of suppliers prices. I am certified in heights safety, and have studied construction through the years. I use resources very well and know where to look and who to ask when I need info, and how to make what I find understandable to my customers.
