I contacted Raul through Thumbtack. He responded within hours and came by within 2 days to see the project. I had an estimate by the next day. The project cost was $2650.
Raul knew immediately what was needed and impressed me by identifying whether I had a bearing wall within 1 minute of looking at the site.
The estimate I received was professional and described the scope of work well. Raul was able to begin the work about 3 weeks later.
The work was completed within 3 days. He made sure to keep the area clean at all times. The work was done exceptionally well. He had to remove all the drywall and studs in the area; form a new wall with metal studs and wood frame; install the door mechanisms; reinstall drywall; trim and paint. I wanted the trim to match another pocket door in the house. He was interested and liked trying something new. It was a pleasure to work with someone who enjoys and is interested in their work.

Raul and his team were absolutely incredible. They responded quickly, came out the same day to provide an estimate, and completed the entire project in just one day. What started as basic closets now look like fully custom built-ins. They handled everything - trim work, fabric installation, painting the trim, ceilings, and surrounding walls - with real attention to detail. The transformation is night and day. They were professional, efficient, and left everything spotless when they finished. I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out and will 100% be using them again for future projects. Rules Home Repair is an outstanding contractor! Of all the residential contractors I have used in the last 25 years, Raul and his team are one of the best. After I consulted an engineer regarding some structural damage in my garage, Rules assessed the extent of the damage to a load bearing wall, properly braced the wall by building temporary section on both sides, removed damaged studs and other structural members, and replaced all. Rules has extensive experience in residential framing and their work is impressive. Additionally, they added much needed lighting, insulated with fire and soundproof insulation, replaced all the drywall and used fire-rated drywall in the ceiling. Every time I asked for a modification, Raul was happy to accomodate. This is definitely a top-tier outfit and so I highly recommend.

Raul was probably the best contractor I’ve ever worked with. He is easy to work with and super responsive. His craftsmanship is excellent along with great attention to detail. He was also very courteous in our home and would limit dust and clean up every day to avoid disturbing us. I will definitely use him again!
