What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I always try to give a reasonable price. When I come out I observe the stump(s) and look at the size and estimate around how long the job will take me. The more stumps I do for you the better the price will be. For example, if one customer calls me out for 1 stump and I charge $120 for it, another customer calls me out for 8 stumps, I won’t charge $120 for each stump, i will price it out on the amount of time it will take me to do the stumps.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Get in contact with the customer and set up a date and time to come out and look at the stump/stumps. I personally give them a free quote and I work to come to an agreement with them.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I used to work for a tree company and worked with the skid steer /mini bobcat and also stump grinder. I went out to make my own business later on.
