I am Mr. Watson's former music theory student. Mr. Watson is a teacher with a lot of notable qualities, the best among which would probably be his prowess as a composer, his deep appreciation for music, and his kindness.
His lectures were always filled with his personal, interesting, very knowledgable, and up-to-date remarks upon the antiquated materials we students had to deal with, along with him constantly exposing us to new music as often as possible. His effort to abate the very misery we had to face as music majors was duly noted and appreciated.
On another note, I was having a lot of issues outside of school during the time I was in his class, and they nearly hindered me from progressing onto higher level music courses. Fortunately, Mr. Watson, being one of the most kindhearted educators one could find, ceaselessly and wholeheartedly helped me get back on track, despite the limited amount of time he had due to the immensely stressful doctorate-student-situation he was concurrently facing. He truly cares about his students, and I feel grateful to have crossed paths with him.
