Keala was fantastic! She answered all of my questions in detail and was always quick to respond. My husband and I needed a someone photographer within 4 days of me putting in my inquiry. Keala was able to make it happen the very same day!!! I put in my inquiry in the morning and by sunset, we were on the beach taking photos. She even went to the store and picked up flowers for me to use during the shoot. My husband and I didn’t know of any locations to take the photos, but Keala was able to recommend the best spots. She was also very helpful with instructing us on where to pose. We had no idea how to pose and would have looked very awkward if it wasn’t for her guidance. She even had photos with examples of poses to help us out! We really ended up having a lot of fun taking our photos together, which was surprising because my husband wasn’t overly excited about it, but he ended up having a great time. Keala was very professional and knowledgeable, but also friendly and fun. You can tell from working with her that she has passion for her job. If anyone is reading this while trying to decide whether or not to hire Keala, HIRE HER!!!! There is no doubt in my mind that you will be satisfied with her work. She is great at what she does and truly a pleasure to work with.

Keala was absolutely 100% professional through the entire experience. We were looking for a photographer to take pictures of us on our honeymoon in my wedding dress. She was the first to respond and made the process extremely simple and fun! We came to Hilo for a helicopter ride and it was two hours from our location in Kona, so she made it work on the day we were In the area so we wouldn't have to travel 2 hours back again. She brought her son with her as her assistant and he was just the cutest thing. Very sweet and great with direction. I think it's admirable that Keala brought her son and is instilling core values in him like work ethic at such a young age. My husband and I had very little time to take pictures at our wedding and this was our chance to make some more amazing memories to remember through these pictures. We aren't very good at posing and knowing where to go, but Keala suggested the Liliuokalani Park and Garden! It was just INCREDIBLE! She told us where to go, where to stand, how to pose. It all comes so naturally to her and it shows. She gave us such a fair price and amazing quality! She is the one to choose above all others. You won't be disappointed. Keala is one of the best photographers that I have ever encountered and overall, an incredible person. She is friendly, helpful, professional, punctual, flexible, and a joy to work with from the very start. I was skeptic at first due to the limited responses of Thumbtack offers on the island, but it was one of the best decisions that I made in planning our engagement/family photo shoot while vacationing in Kona. The photos beat our expectations, which were set very high after seeing the awesome work in her portfolio (http://www.hiloportraitphotography.com/).   • How did you get started doing this type of work?

    I came from a family of 10 children( same parents) I was the oldest , which brought on lot of responsibility. I was mom, cook, sister, aunty, driver and photographer. I starter out taking our family portrait every year. I fell in love with photography. I practiced on my brothers and sisters over the years and now I have 4 boys of my own to photograph. I love it.
