FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Not complicated, I price by the simplicity or the complexity of the job involved, always reasonable and estimates are always free.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
There is really no need, as construction has not changed radically for quite some time. Some of the products used in the process have vastly improved, which is beneficial to the customer and to the installer. Products continue to be improved upon, but the mechanics of construction is the same as it always has been. I do remain prudent on what products are useful and efficient to the customer, and myself as well.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I began learning carpentry while at a job I had during High-school. After graduating, I remained in carpentry as I was alone and unable to attend further education for financial reasons, like so many others.... In the subsequent years I advanced enough to begin my independency at the age of 26. As a result, I learned the other trades by watching and learning from other trades people, who were unwilling to reveal any information as if it were a secret. I took a personal vow to learn the trades by going to work at different trades companies,so when I had learned enough at one, I would go to work for another, and so on, until I learned them all. By the age of 32 I was a contractor for a VA hospital and built decks and installed devices for disable vets and others, while being a Maintenance Supervisor at a 300-unit apartment complex. I always endeavored to persevere to be the best at what I do best, which is solving problems for those who requested my services, and that includes all levels of society, from millionaire property owners, to down-and-out clients, both who were treated equally well by myself.
