FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing for families and child sessions is a flat session fee up to 5 people. Beyond that it is $10 additional per person. For newborn sessions (ages 0-3 months), the pricing varies on whether the mom did a maternity session. I provide a maternity-newborn package that allows families to save with their newborn session, For all my family and child-related sessions, all my products are a la carte. However, clients who spend a certain amount do get rewarded with extra product. I have ONE package for weddings that includes a certain number of product and services, which include an engagement session and a wedding album. Digital files (photos on disc) are an a la carte add-on. Couples can also qualify for incentives if they book within 3 days of a consultation.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Absolutely. All the time. I'm a member of a professional state association, and also attend at least one or two conferences and workshops to stay up-to-date on the latest in my field, as well as network with others in my industry in-person through online forums and webinars.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Like most photographers, I started this as a hobby. Then the hobby evolved into something more serious. However, unlike a lot of photographers I went back to school and decided to do a rigorous documentary photography program. After that, I took on a variety of freelance projects for businesses and newspapers before launching my own business.
