I received a quote, but after making a couple of calls and leaving more messages through Thumbtack, I haven't heard anything back from him. I've chosen another photographer.

We have taken great steps to make our customer service, "Beyond your expectations". This happened right after our move to Gmail. We now have rules in place to bring responses to the front of our mail.
We also let Luann know if she wasn't satisfied with who she picked, we would photograph her for free!

FAQs
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We always want to meet with them, or at least talk on the phone to find out what they want and what the goals are. We want to make a portrait, not take a picture!!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We are constantly training, trying new ideas and backgrounds out in the studio. We are members of Professional Photographers of America and attend the training week every year. We are also members of Professional Photographers of Iowa, the Aperture Society and in a photography MasterMind group.
Our studio just won "Best Senior Photographer" in Urbandale, voted by our Peers. We are so proud of that!
How did you get started doing this type of work?
After years of being in technology and shooting weddings on weekends, I was finally were able to leave the corporate world behind and do what I love and had always wanted to do... run a successful portrait studio.
