Cody was wonderful for our engagement and wedding photos! He put us and our guests at ease (and I am not normally comfortable in front of a camera, let alone under the stress of all of the last minute things that pop up during a wedding!). He stayed in touch with us regularly from the day we decided to hire him up to the wedding, and seemed to really understand what our goals were for the overall aesthetic of the wedding. Right from the start he was enthusiastic about our ideas for a library shoot for our engagement photos and our wedding at Hunter Mansion. He perfectly captured the elements of each location that drew us to them with his photography. The biggest thing I wanted from the wedding (aside from pictures of the ceremony and the shots with our families) were candid images of our guests during our reception as we had arranged for a murder mystery that I knew would have a lot of great moments that I would probably miss in all of the chaos. He captured those moments wonderfully without intruding in any way. He also captured some wonderful images of the beautiful flowers a friend of my mother-in-law designed for us. The pictures are beautiful and exactly what I had hoped for. Aside from his talents as a photographer, Cody is great to work with in general. He was friendly, communicative, and helpful even with things that weren't really part of his job at all - case in point, none of the groomsmen knew how to tie a tie, but he helped them all with that. He took a lot of stress off of what would have been a very nerve-wracking day. My husband and I are immensely grateful for everything he did for us, from the engagement photos all the way through to the wedding.

My review became wordy, here's an overview, with details below: * Complete professionalism, at all times * Awesome personality, was extremely friendly, relaxed my wife and I during the process * Great quality of shots/editing * Dedicated to the art, but more importantly, to the people he is working with * Amazing value We found Cody through Thumbtack back in the spring. When he first reached out to us, I was extremely surprised. His attitude was great, and his beliefs about photography and the business were exceptional. Originally, we were only going to go to Cody for our engagement pictures, as we had other wedding plans. The engagement pictures and photoshoot were superb. He made us feel comfortable in a typically uncomfortable situation. Not only did he shoot great shots, but he came up to Ames to shoot on campus. His pricing for engagement pictures, by themselves, was perfect. When we decided to have our wedding in Iowa instead of Wisconsin, we spoke with Cody about doing our pictures for the ceremony. Cody rolled the price of engagement pictures into the wedding price, and was flexible in our needs. He was willing to make the drive, even for the morning ceremony (sorry Cody!). He arrived at 6:30 a.m. for our 10:00 a.m. ceremony, in order to prep for the wedding. The dedication shown by Cody was extremely important to my wife and I. Throughout the day, he was there in all the right moments, but surprisingly discrete in his work. When we needed direction (the formal shots) he was there to point us in the right direction. At lunch, he sat with us and joined right in on the conversation, which was very welcome. As he stated in the beginning, he doesn't see us so much as clients, but as friends, and it certainly felt that way! We had a very intimate wedding, and a non-typical reception of boating on the lake. He braved the rocking dock to get our departure on the boat, which we also appreciated. The turn around time of the touched up images is also something I'm extremely impressed with. My brother's photographer took several months to get them completed. Cody stands by his word when he says he will get them back to you quickly (engagement pictures that week, wedding ones are this weekend). All in all, we would suggest him to absolutely anybody. Cody surpassed all my expectations of a photographer. He provided my wife and I with great images of our special day(s), and captured the essence of my wife and I's relationship. Our wedding went perfectly and Cody's professionalism, personality, and commitment to providing us with memories definitely added to that feeling of a perfect day.
