Introduction: The Harmony Road program is an internationally acclaimed program developed by Jan Keyser out of Oregon. All our piano teachers are trained and certified through her program. I love teaching children the fun, love and wonders of performing music. An education in music performance is a powerful way to help children maintain a higher aptitude for learning and there is much scientific evidence that children that learn to perform music do much better academically than children who do not.

How did you get started doing this type of work?
I had had one of those unpleasant piano teachers as a child which proved very discouraging to me in spite of my great love for music. I have been conducting church choirs for years and long felt that I would someday start a children's choir. Then I started providing a simple music program for my children's preschool and found myself desperately wishing I had a well thought out course from which to teach. When I came across the Harmony Road program I realized it was what I had been looking for. With the training came the franchise and the method to open our school allowing us the way to move toward my goal of teaching children music in a enjoyable motivating way.
