About Serenity Henna Body Art

Since 2004, Serenity Henna has been providing beautiful, natural, henna designs for all occasions. Our artists are well versed in many styles of mehndi and can provide just what you need for brides, parties, bridal and baby showers, mitzvahs, festivals, corporate events, tattoo trials, or any other time you desire temporary body art. All of our work is done freehand which means everything we do can be completely customized for our clients.

Serenity Henna can also provide glitter tattoos for your event. Using medical-grade acrylic adhesive and a rainbow array of cosmetic-grade microfine glitters, we create gorgeous, sparkling body art that lasts up to one week.

Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Look for quality as well as price. Consider how long the artist had been working professionally. Ask if the artist mixes their own henna and what the ingredients are. Do not hire an artist who cannot or will not share their henna recipe. Never, ever hire a henna artist who uses so-called "black henna". Natural henna is never black. "Black henna" is actually a chemical called paraphenylinediamine (PPD) and can seriously harm you.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. It is not as easy as we make it look. It takes years to perfect the application of henna, even with a good foundation in other arts. It is like learning to draw with pudding.
The ingredients in henna paste are not some closely guarded, old secret recipe. Do not trust any artist who claims otherwise.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. How long have your been applying henna professionally?
What ingredients are in your paste?
Do you use 100% natural henna?
Do you draw all of your designs freehand?
Do you recognize the dangers of "black henna" and refuse to use it? (if the answer is "no", do not hire that artist)

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. They should have thought about what kind of design they might like, what their budget is, when they would like to set the appointment for, and where they would like to have the art applied.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. My work stands out from others because of the wide variety of styles which I am capable of. I can create anything from traditional bridal-style mehndi, to non-traditional designs such as portraits, logos, and trial runs for ink tattoos. I can render almost anything which can be drawn with pencil into henna art.
