My wife and I took our 4 year old son for his first ever golf lesson with Brendan, he was extremely patient and made the experience fun. He was able to keep my sons interest throughout the 45 min lesson (which is pretty difficult with a 4 year old). Brendan's knowledge of the game and experience with junior (and adult) golfers have convinced us to set up weekly sessions for our son. Highly recommended!

BEST GOLF INSTRUCTOR YOU WILL EVER HAVE (and I know what I'm talking about) ABOUT ME: (leading up to contacting Brandan) Hi there, my name is Alex Lindsey and I am absolutely a real person and this is absolutely a REAL review! ) The video screen shot pictures I attached below were taken by Brandan (the golf pro) during my first lesson (November 2017) I'm a decent golfer by most standards (lowest ever hdcp 3.5 @ Cog Hill #4); I'd say my average hdcp over the last 20 years is roughly 8-9index). I've shot a 69 for my lowest ever and I've shot in the 70's hundreds of times. I am and always was an avid reader/viewer of just about EVERY golf book and video. Although most of those readings took place during my high school years at Fremd High School in Palatine, IL 1993-1997. I've played college golf at Harper and I've competed in several local tournaments usually turning in cards ranging from 78-83 on say a 143 slope rated course playing let's say 6800 yards. I was okay, but really not pleased felt I could do better. I just couldn't get anything going good more than a few days in a row. Got depressing to be honest with you. I kick most peoples' asses on the golf course, but when I play against the "real guys" well let's just say I get EXPOSED and my ass is handed right back to me. I get nervous and I shoot 86 while the real deal yawns and shoots 71 EVERY FREAKIN TIME. It's all relative folks. I'm a struggling golfer really. BUT THAT'S CHANGING NOW!!!!! The variance in my golf scores was something I was tired of. One day I'm carrying my driver 290 yds consistently with a high beautiful & powerful draw and the next day I'm hitting a weak slow moving cut that flies about 230 and has ZERO steam on it. Irons into greens were not a strength either. When I played well, I had my driver going and I got up and down a lot. When I played poorly, everything sucked. I had to be clicking on all cylinders to shoot in the 70's. It was always remarkable seeing how some people play a round with me and remark how I am the best golfer they've ever seen and they can't believe I instead work in Civil Engineering!!! Others?? Well they keep quiet and likely view me as a regular "Sunday Slicing Golfer" who is happy to hit the green from 140 out and thinks pars are heavenly!!!! Nothing is wrong with the latter example BUT I'VE BEEN THE FORMER AND SO I KNOW I CAN DO IT!!! IT'S JUST BEEN A HELL JOURNEY GETTING MYSELF TO STRIKE AND COMPRESS THE GOLF BALL LIKE THESE REAL MEN DO. :) Requesting a PRO on Thumbtack: Brandan promptly replied as did about 3 others. Brandan immediately grabbed my attention when I read that he is a "Class A PGA PRO" who passed his PAT (player ability test) on his very first try! Not only that, he won the damn thing taking MEDALIST honors with a 70-68!! That was instant credibility to me. The PAT is something each PGA Professional in the United States must pass. It is only one item in a process of other things an aspiring pro has to do, but it's the most crucial and it can expose you if things are not quite right. The PAT test day process: (in case you're curious) Basically they take the course rating x 2 and add 20 shots. You must fall within that range after 36 holes are complete. USGA rules in full effect. Example: Course rating 76.5 (76.5 x 2 = 153 + 20 is 173. 173 scores and under are passed. The rest must wait 6 months before taking again. It's not as easy as it sounds to pass the PAT folks. Only 25% of the applicants pass at the Chicago area PAT offerings. ABOUT BRANDAN (and what we are going to accomplish): He's a tall athletic guy that has good energy. He wastes no time in talking and the information he gives you are rich in value. Instantly he noticed WHY I DID HAVE THE INCONSISTENCIES AND HOW TO FIX THEM. I kid you not, he is the real deal. SUMMARY: DON'T BE FOOLED BY "GOLF PROS" OR "GOLF INSTRUCTORS" THEY ARE NOT ALL THE SAME. AT THE VERY MINIMUM MAKE SURE YOU CHOOSE A PGA PROFESSIONAL. THEN GO FIND A GOOD ONE THAT KNOWS HOW TO DO IT HIMSELF AND TEACH IT. (Live you life with passion and get at good one.) If you can't get in to see Brandan (BUSY GUY) then get somebody else he's coached. I don't lie folks and I've never written a review for anybody or anything else for that matter. Brendan is great! He stays very involved, stays intense, is very positive, and really hammers home the point(s) of the lesson. I was looking for a golf instructor/coach and found a good one. He is very knowledgeable and uses his training aids purposefully. I will continue to work with Brendan and am very confident that my game will get to where I want it to be with his help.

Brendan was patient and explains each step in the process and provides targeted drills to teach your body and mind to do the same drill and eliminate the bad habits. In two lessons I feel more comfortable and confident with my golf swing. I am anxious to have it carryover on the course. The key is continue to build on the process one step at a time.
