Renae decorated my condo in downtown Chicago and I couldn't be happier! She did such a great job and my house looks great. She is very professional and was always on time for our appointments. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for an interior designerApr 22, 2016
I connected with Chase and Dean (Renae) in October of 2018 for renewing decor of my master bedroom and bath. I liked her design and choices. Rooms were nicely updated. While it took an unusually long time to get my draperies installed, the project finally got finished and rooms look great!Jul 25, 2019VerifiedChase & Dean Interiors | Greater Chicago Area's reply
Thank you for tbe four star review.., we love your rooms!! We understand how frustrating it can be anytime a client has to wait longer than expected for any part of a project, and we apologize for that! It’s my job to be sure you get what you pay for and nothing less, so while it was our choice to send your draperies back to be perfected, we are happy with the choice to do so and are thrilled with how they look. I truly enjoyed working with you and thank you for trusting Chase & Dean Interiors for your project.
We first worked with Renae for Christmas decorating for our restaurant. We received so many compliments on the decorations that we asked her for advice on how to improve the existing design. She gave us insightful feedback and recommendations that wouldn't cost a lot. All the changes were so positive that we used her to fully design our new restaurant dining room. She is very creative with ways to design very affordably and respected our budget.Sep 20, 2017Verified
I was so excited to work with a designer to remodel my kitchen and living room. Unfortunately Renae was not a good choice for us. This pro seemed too busy for our project. She was consistently late for our meetings, she went over our retainer by 1/3 without notifying us before hand or that it was approaching . Renae prided herself in listening to “your style” , but in the end mostly steered the project to her tastes. I would say that I wasn’t sure Of this chair that cost $450 . She wanted me to buy 2 of them. Yet the whole design was around this chair. After paying Renae $750, I have a picture of a design board and no brands or links to order any of the items. And nothing was accomplished. I repeatedly asked for links to order before and after we terminated our agreement and she has not provided them. When I asked for a refund or partial refund of our retainer, that was the first time she stated that I went over the retainer by 1/3 and she would not refund us our project. Renae picked colors for our room that are the main colors listed as popular on Pinterest. It was not specific to our home or style .Dec 28, 2018VerifiedChase & Dean Interiors | Greater Chicago Area's reply
We are disappointed anytime a client feels we deserve less than a 5 Star review. Clients trust us with their money and their homes, and we are grateful for that trust and feel is our duty to deliver their perfect space and respect their budget. We make it a practice to never take on more projects than we have time to complete well. In this case, Justin and Megan were a little hesitant to use a designer, as they had never worked with a designer before. They were also on a very very short time request, and over the Thanksgiving holiday. In order to help them be more comfortable, I agreed to reduce my normal retainer by $250 so we could see how far they wanted me to take the project. I made them aware that I was traveling for the holiday, but would work on their project as possible while I traveled. We worked together for just under four weeks and during that time accomplished 6 meetings (including at tile showroom and chose 2 tile options that they indicated they were very happy with and took samples to look at at home) and a full design and design board. As shown, I did send them links to the products that they could purchase in stock at local stores since they had such a short timeline (which is not our standard process). We did go over the retainer amount without replenishing which is not what our service agreement calls for, but we felt it was in the best interest of our client to keep going in order to get this done for them quickly. I proactively credited back for ALL time over the retainer fee, before even asked to do so. That said, For the entire duration of the project, I was given only positive feedback of the choices and design. Also, while I did favor one chair, I clearly explained (as shown in the attached photos) that there were multiple great options and I would put together the combination based on what THEY liked best. In the end, I was asked to refund all payments. Given that all work was completed, plus more, we just did not feel that was a fair solution since we were never given any indication until after the client received all information, design boards, etc that there was any dissatisfaction with the project or work. We did credit all amounts due over the retainer fee. Unfortunately businesses have to be paid for their work in order to stay in business, otherwise it would be impossible to offer our services to valuable clients and homes. We always strive to keep our clients happy!
