FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
It's not complicated at all. I figure out what you need, what your budget entails and give you a competitive price. I don't have ridiculous pricing schedules or hourly rates. I give you a flat fee and tell you exactly what I can provide for that price. I'm very reasonable, professional and competitive.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've held many IT jobs like DBA and application developer for the government (contractor). I've built content management systems, online children learning games and also worked for a company that built custom-made job board software. I served as Deputy CIO for Department of Commerce's MBDA until 2007 when I had twin daughters seven years ago. That's when I decided to give up 4-hour commutes in lieu of being a dedicated mom. My family is my world but I also take my work serious. I love what I do (being creative, helping businesses with development and branding) so it only makes sense that I work for myself as a designer/developer which gives me flexibility to take care of my daughters.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I build websites of all kinds of websites -- portfolios, e-commerce, product sites, marketing sites, landing pages and more. I also build dynamic, database-driven sites like content managements sites, real estate, travel, bakery sites... you name it. But I tell clients all the time, I can build the infrastructure and make it pretty but you have to work with me and provide the content or give me some lead-way to provide content for you. It can be beautiful (aesthetics) and it can be 'brainy' (infrastructure) but it needs a 'soul' and that comes from content.
