About Forever Bound Wedding Ceremonies

I am a wedding officiant who performs weddings and commitment ceremonies that are absolutely customized to your wishes. I have no rules or limitations other than those imposed by the State of Illinois, and the county where your ceremony will take place. I am here to help
you create the perfect ceremony for your very special and memorable day.

I do not adhere to any religious dogma. However, I am an ordained minister of the Universal Life Church, which permits me to perform legal marriage ceremonies in any state. I will honor and respect any belief system that you wish to incorporate into your ceremony, at any level of spirituality or perform a secular ceremony with no references to any religious or spiritual beliefs. I have no agenda and will never attempt to influence your choices. I will not, however, perform any ceremony that would compromise my integrity as a wedding officiant.

I perform ceremonies within the entire Chicago metropolitan area and collar counties, including Wisconsin and Indiana, at any venue or setting you have chosen, such as chapels, clubs, banquet facilities, your home or outdoors. I also perform elopement ceremonies at my home in Barrington, Illinois.

I maintain a library of hundreds of promises, vows, blessings, declarations and readings, and work very closely with you during the months prior to your ceremony to design your unique ceremony. A detailed profile and questionnaire will help me to narrow down your choices for the various components of your ceremony. This eliminates your having to read through selections that would not be appealing to you or your fiancé or fiancée. I also have pre-planned ceremonies that are lovely at very reduced fees to help you remain within your budget for last-minute wedding ceremonies

Very often, parents and family members are disappointed when couples do not wish to be married in the family’s church or religion. In these cases, I am happy to provide ideas and suggestions for incorporating those family members or components into your ceremony to help them feel more comfortable about your choices. While it is rarely possible to please everyone, we can try to bring harmony into your wedding while adhering to your own special wishes.

I am here to work with you at whatever level you wish. I am flexible, I am here to support your choices, and to help you if you have no idea where to start. I have performed over 70 ceremonies of a great variety, all unique.

Question and answer

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. I work closely with my couples to customize unique ceremonies. Other wedding officiants or clergymen/women have pre-planned ceremonies, or try to influence the couple to their religious beliefs. I am flexible and always provide my couples with the wedding that they want, not what I want, or what is most convenient and cost effective for me. Because this is all that I do (it's not something that I do to augment my income), I have all the time needed to work with my couples to provide their unique ceremony. My weddings can be classy or casual, always what the couple wants.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I love being invited to the wedding reception, because most couples come to feel close to me as a friend or mother figure, not just as someone who provided a service for their ceremony. But I never expect an invitation.

I get great satisfaction at seeing the smiling couple after the ceremony, seeing them happy that it went well because I helped them through it, and often that they are relieved it is over! I always get hugs from the happy couple because they feel I am part of the family. I love weddings and it shows!

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. Most couples want to know where to start, and of course, how my fees are calculated depending on how much time the couple wants me to spend with them in creating their unique ceremony. There are 7 or 8 components to a longer ceremony, and only about 4 or 5 to a simple ceremony. Some couples want to know if I will participate in a rehearsal, which I discourage because of the added expense. I explain my fee structure for the level of research and amount of back-and-forth communications needed to get the wording right for the various components of the ceremony. Many couples want to meet with me before making a decision, and I've never had anyone decide to go with someone else to officiate at their ceremony after meeting me.
