Hi, my name is Royce. I’m a professional/semi-professional soccer player and experienced coach with a background that spans multiple levels of the game. I’ve played soccer internationally in Asia, competed at the senior professional level, and have extensive experience coaching both boys and girls. I’ve coached five teams throughout my coaching career—four as a head coach and one as an assistant coach—including two women’s programs, one in Nashville and most recently IC Catholic here in Illinois. I’ve coached players of different ages, skill levels, positions, and playing styles, which has given me a well-rounded understanding of the game. My coaching philosophy is built around positive, energetic, and motivational training. I want players to enjoy the game while also being challenged to improve technically, tactically, physically, and mentally. Whether your son or daughter is just developing their skills or looking to take their game to the next level, I can create training sessions specifically around their needs and goals. My playing background started at a young age. Growing up, I consistently played two years above my age group in club soccer and won a national championship at 11 years old. At South Elgin High School, I was the leading goal scorer as a freshman while also playing football. I went on to play football in college as a kicker before returning to soccer after graduation, eventually playing professionally in Asia. With my experience as both a player and coach, I understand the game from multiple perspectives and can help players develop a deeper understanding of what it takes to succeed.
