I provide beginner to master class lessons in acoustic, electric, slide, banjo and more! I have been playing for 40 years and been teaching for over 35 years.
I have a unique teaching style that is fun and entertaining. I will teach you the music you want to play! For a more relaxed and comfortable learning experience, I will travel to your home.
My fees are very reasonable, lower than most music stores and also include assistance with purchasing new instruments. In addition, I am always available by phone for any questions between lessons.
I offer a free consultation visit so you can be sure of what you are getting before the lessons begin and I can provide references upon request.

I just started taking lessons from Jeff and already he has provided so much value. He’s definitely experienced and his first order of business was to restring and adjust my guitar.
From there Jeff got to know my musical taste and understand what it is I am trying to accomplish. He then started to teach me chords in certain keys and the shapes and techniques for hitting those chords. Not only is he teaching me technique but also the underlying building blocks for how songs are constructed.
I’ve been in search of a guitar sensei and Jeff fits the bill. I highly recommend.

I have had a guitar for a while but was just self-taught and learned from youtube. I was not finding much progress... I have been working with Jeff just over a month and it is amazing the results he has been able to generate already. After 4 or 5 lessons with Jeff I am about 4 or 5 times better at guitar than I was before our first lesson and about 20 times as knowledgeable in the instrument and music itself. Jeff finds out what music you are interested in and what you'd like to play and he tailors and integrates that into his lesson plan for you. This makes practicing much more fun. It is clearly evident that he cares about my progress as a student and does not just show up to make it through the hour to get paid. He puts in a lot of work outside of our lessons in order to prepare for our next meeting. He will push you but is a great teacher and is so easy to work with. He can make someone as good as they want to be if you give him the time and effort. Extremely happy I hired Jeff! Can already play several of my favorite songs all the way through.

I started with Jeff around the middle of December 2016. I have had about 6 to 7 weeks’ worth of lessons. I have come a very long way in a short amount of time. I finally feel that I will accomplish my goal of being able to play guitar (after years of trying and never succeeding). Jeff is a fantastic music teacher and is very knowledgeable. He will also break down songs that YOU want to learn and incorporates them in the weekly lessons. Which helps keep you motivated and helps you learn at an even faster pace. Not to mention he comes to your home and teaches. That is a major convenience factor. If you have always wanted to learn the guitar or have tried and never quite reached your goal, look no further than Jeff. He will help you achieve your goal and mold you into a great guitar player. Highly recommended.

You can't do better than having Jeffrey as an instructor if you desire to not just learn the technical, but the true feeling of playing guitar. He is patient, in tune to the particular way that a student naturally learns (rather than an instructor that sticks to a rigid "one method fits all" lesson plan). I have found his patience, encouragement, and his actual enjoyment of my progress to be inspiring. I enjoy learning and practicing more because of his style and enthusiasm of instruction. He teaches his students in the particular style they want to learn (blues, jazz, rock, pop, classical). He can then widen playing horizons by demonstrating how different styles relate to one another. His years of experience as an instructor and professional musician give him a wealth of musical facets and perspectives that he readily offers a student to draw upon. I haven't heard a style that he can't play and teach, in my opinion, amazingly well. For those of you who really want to truly play the guitar, Jeffrey is the Real Deal.
