We hired Dave to repair and stain our back and side porches that were in pretty bad shape due to overall age and water damage. He completed the job on time and on budget (at a very fair price) and both feel very sturdy and look great, we are very pleased and would hire him (and Cindy, who did the staining) again. Thanks!

Hired on Thumbtack
We’ve had problems with our upstairs bathroom leaking for several years. Dave diagnosed the problem as the floor sinking and reinforced the 100-year-old wood frame with iron. It worked like a charm for way less money than I expected!

Hired on Thumbtack
I hired David and Bob to replace two patios and a roof deck with trex. The project entailed demo, replacing joists, building benches, laying the trex, and took about 10 days. David and Bob were punctual, worked hard, and I am very happy with the quality of the work. I would not hesitate to recommend them to others. Thanks!
Details: Replacement of entire portions of deck or porch • Wood • Less than 10 years old • Residential

Hired on Thumbtack
We have hired many people on Thumbtack and David has by far been the best to work with. Repaired wood front porch, deck, and siding. He was to able solve a lot of complicated challenges with very smart and practical solutions. Our home is more than 100 years old and Dave intimately understood the quirks of older homes and how to approach repairs while being true to the original. The harder the task the more excited he seemed to take it on and the more proud upon completion. Would hire him again and highly recommend.

FAQs
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I touch base to discuss and initially assess their situation, then we meet and make a game plan. Then if mutually agreeable, I get right to work. I have a saying, "When you hire me, you get me." I do have a few employees, but rarely are they on the job without me. I never sub out my work, nor do I overbook my schedule. I won't get rich, but it's just my way.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have only in recent years, finally taken the time to go to college, for stationary engineering, minoring in heating and air, as I always found it interesting.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
As a teenager I was taken under the wing of a well- seasoned, old school kinda guy, who generously taught me everything he knew, and still to this day, 30+ years later, there are always new things to learn and hone my skills.
