If you’re looking for a talented, honest, and genuinely caring craftsman, I can’t recommend Dan Sheetz with DP Sheetz highly enough!
Dan built beautiful custom oak lockers and mudroom cabinets for our home, and the quality of the craftsmanship exceeded our expectations. Every detail is stunning, and the finished product completely transformed our space.
What truly set Dan apart, though, was the experience from start to finish. He was incredibly kind, responsive, and easy to work with. He kept us updated throughout the entire project with texts and emails, clearly communicated the timeline, and always followed through on what he promised. He took the time to answer all of our questions, offered thoughtful recommendations when we were making decisions, and genuinely cared about helping us create the best possible design.
One thing that stood out was how available he made himself. He even answered my phone calls while I was standing in Home Depot trying to make decisions, walking me through options and giving honest advice. He also invited us to his workshop so we could see stain samples in person and make sure we were completely happy with the final color before anything was finished. That level of care and attention is hard to find.
His installation team was equally impressive—friendly, professional, respectful of our home, and clearly took pride in their work. They were a pleasure to have in our house and did an outstanding job. Dan and his team were also very communicative about any changes that needed to be made and always asked for my permission before making any adjustments, which meant a lot to us. When my Amazon delivery of hooks was delayed a few days, his team came back to install the hooks and numbers on the inside and outside of the lockers, which we were very grateful for. After the project was completed, we realized we wanted an additional shelf in the laundry room to complete the look, and Dan did not hesitate to take care of it and completed the task in a timely manner.
It’s uncommon to find someone who combines exceptional craftsmanship with outstanding customer service, but Dan absolutely does. We couldn’t be happier with our mudroom, and we’ll gladly recommend DP Sheetz to anyone looking for beautiful custom cabinetry and woodworking.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We do what can to prep for a in-person meeting on the phone and or computer. We love when you use inspiration photos and photos of your space. We will come out and sketch ideas to help with pricing. Customers will receive large hand drawn designs and will get a copy and sign off on the design. We build and install what we design.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Fireplace built-ins, audio/video cabinetry, bookcases, home office, laundry room and indoor and out door space planing and design.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
The Chicago Cubs bar. The bar is the heart of "Club 400," owned by Stewart McVicar, which won the Ultimate Fan-Cave contest hosted by the Chicago Cubs in 2013. It was also featured in ESPN magazine and on channel 5 news. You can see pictures in my profile.
