Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: Everything I perform is by memory, the Chopin, Debussy, Bach, etc, classic jazz, the Beatles stuff, the Grateful Dead, whatever. My job is to be like a perfect butler in many social situations, almost ignorable until the audience wants to listen, and then, perfect. If I bring equipment, like an electric piano/keypoard, it, and accompanying sound reinforcement amps, etc, everything is of the highest quality, resulting in excellent sound. Many times, however, I perform on pianos already in position, or the piano, usually a grand, can be rented and delivered for the particular event. I would play piano for free, but I won't. Usually. It's like playing pinball - I would do it anyway, and I'm delighted to have the opportunity to do it, for hours, and in different and interesting places. Of course, the college degree, years of experience and practice, and moving equipment and the expenses of life itself insure certain minimums......

We were thrilled with Jeff! He was very professional, and easy to work with from start to finish. He arrived early for the event, and his wonderful music created just the atmosphere I was looking for. He went above and beyond to help create a memorable evening for all.

FAQs

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

I do wedding and corporate receptions, dinners, parties, the sort of things that need that extra bit of music and visible"class" that a solo pianist, a good solo pianist, can provide. Live music can serve as a sort of common denominator to the entire event, furnishing an elegant atmosphere that connects minute to minute.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Talk to the performer, at least, on the phone. Questions come up "live" that one could forget to ask, and you also get a sense of the personality of the performer and how he might deal with your clients or guests. Musicians are not interchangeable.
