Joni Pawlek of My Secret Garden redesigned my garden, and landscaped my back yard. She had great ideas, incorporating my ideas, and improving on them. The flowers she brought were beautiful, and healthy...they were thoughtfully placed in areas perfect for them in appearance, and based on their needs. After she finished with the back, I had her redesign the front of the house. Joni was a pleasure to work with. Pleasant, professional, and prompt. It was a good experience for us, and we will continue to give her our landscaping business.

I bought a new home in Des Plaines in April and had a lot of remodeling done and the front yard needed a complete re-do! After Jodi and I met and she measured the yard we met again and she presented me with an artistic rendering of the plantings she would do for my front yard as well as her proposal for removing all of the plants in the front, the bricks, and redid the entire front of my house! I was so excited, it was beautiful and I still love it! She and her team of gardeners were excellent, showed up on time, very professional and neat! She was here again today to change some of the plants around where they will do better! We will be talking soon about the back yard for next year!

FAQs

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I come out for free consultations would usually take about a half an hour. I do charge for a hand-drawn , scale design typically $400 for an entire property or $200 for half the space. Not everyone needs a drawing though. I can also quote you on particular plants to be installed and we can work together to pick exactly the right plans to suit your style.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I usually assess their needs over the phone to make sure I am the right landscaper for them and then I come out for a free consultation, and we can go from there.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
A lifetime of experience gardening exactly in this area and a certification in ornamental Horticulture from the Chicago Botanic Gardens.
