My name is Giulia, and I'm a French and Italian tutor. My husband and I, both Italian, moved to the United States from Milan, Italy, just over a year ago. As for my French and Italian education, I started my French language studies in the 6th grade and continued on through my college. I have a business economics degree from Bocconi University in Milan and spent a semester studying at the HEC Grand Ecole, Paris. Having lived in France, I understand the culture and nuances that are a very important part of learning a new language. I also studied Latin for five years to supplement my skills in both languages. Before our relocation, I was a marketing manager in a multinational company. Now, I love to teach what I'm passionate about languages. For some, learning a new language can be a bit intimidating so my lessons are designed to fun and engaging. We will talk about your goals and objectives, assess your current skill level, and work at a pace that is challenging yet comfortable so that you can progress confidently. We will work hard on grammar and conversation, but we'll also discover the French and Italian cultures through songs, movies, poetry, and you will love it! My students currently range in age from 9 to 70 years old with beginner to intermediate ability levels. I offer both online or in person tutoring. Lessons are tailored to your personal needs whether you are a business professional, planning a trip, a student of any age, or are just looking to stimulate your mind by learning something new.

Giulia is wonderful! I wanted to brush up on my Italian before a trip to Italy, and I'm so glad I found Giulia. She tailored each lesson to address specific situations I would encounter, and provided an insider's perspective for cultural differences between regions. Giulia is very friendly and accommodating. As a native Italian, it was so interesting to hear her perspective on everything from favorite foods to politics to cultural differences within various regions of Italy. The lessons were very helpful, and the Skype format works well. I certainly would not have been able to catch up to speed as quickly on my own. Thank you Giulia!!! :)

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
About French: I started my french studies in the 6th grade and continued on through my college years. Having lived in France, I understand the culture and nuances that are a very important part of learning a new language. About Italian: I'm a native speaker! I also studied Latin for five years to supplement my skills in both languages.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started during my college years, both in Bocconi University Milan and HEC business school in Paris, where I worked with international exchange students to teach them Italian or French.
