I really liked the home training rather then in a business atmosphere. They are very caring and treat your dog as one of theirs. Would definitely use them again.

I have a 1.5 year old Labrador retriever who is smart, mischievous, and had developed significant reactivity with humans and other dogs. Even with months of day training with an invested and knowledgeable trainer, I was still struggling to get him to follow commands consistently at home. As a first time dog owner, I was well intentioned but made a lot of mistakes that made him think he was in charge of the household instead of the other way around. Even though we love him, due to his unpredictability and my struggle to manage his reactivity, I was on the verge of rehoming him because I just didn’t know what else to do. Thankfully, his day trainer put me in touch with Tarra and Mike at Canine Polarity! Within a couple days of contacting them, they came to my home to do an assessment and make recommendations. They are VERY knowledgeable and skilled with dogs like mine and immediately made their recommendations. We decided to do a 3 week board and train to introduce structure and an ecollar. I was so nervous to send him away for that long but Tarra sent lots of detailed updates, videos, and observations about my dog. She always responded to my texts and really got to understand my dog and what he needed. He returned home a few days ago and is a MUCH better behaved dog!! He is still his mischievous and playful self but now understands the limits, expectations, and privileges he is allowed to have. Not only did Tarra and Mike train my dog on how to live harmoniously and without constant worry about his next “bad behavior”, but they trained me and my family too! Both of our confidence has increased so much. I’ve reached out several times since he got home and Tarra continues to provide coaching as needed so we don’t fall back into bad habits. I would highly recommend Canine Polarity for your training needs!!

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Our pricing is based off of 3 things: our time, the difficulty of the job, and our experience/skill-set. This industry is very much 'you get what you pay for'. When you pay us to work with your dog, you're paying us for the thousands of hours we've invested into our craft, as well as the continuing education we pursue to better ourselves for our clientele. Dog training is an ever-evolving art, and it demands the very best of each of us.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

The first thing we do is set up an evaluation with the client and their dog. We like to sit down and discuss your lifestyle, any issues you've been having, and get to know your dog's personality before giving suggestions on training services. It's very important to us to build a strong relationship with both you and your dog, so we don't like to rush the process.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

We've worked with clients in many different capacities. We've taught senior clients how to raise and manage new puppies, assisted disabled people in teaching new behaviors to their service dogs in training, helped remedy serious aggression in family pets, and showed young kids how to communicate with their dogs and build a better relationship for the future. Dogs are individuals just like people, and we work on a case-by-case basis to develop a training plan that allows everyone involved to feel successful.
