My wife and I connected with Lawrence in the summer of 2024 with the lofty idea of moving our laundry upstairs and reorienting our 1st floor, moving the kitchen and creating a study in the previous kitchen space.
From our first meeting Lawrence was attentive, engaged and enthusiastic about the project. He provided designs and renderings of the spaces and produced a budget that fell with in our target range.
The project began in the fall of 2024. Lawrence was very communicative and detailed about the project, ensuring to let us know when he expected work to be done and how it might disrupt our daily lives and helped plan around the work.
All of the trades that Lawrence coordinated and worked with were respectful, professional, on time and tidy.
Lawrence was also great about providing guidance on selecting finishing materials and appliances. He was very creative with engineering solutions for our older house to keep to his original design.
Lawrence let us know on more than one occasion how excited and proud he was of this project, it felt as if Lawrence was working on his own home.
Every tradesman, contractor and delivery person who came into the space remarked at how after the project it “seemed like a whole new house”
The project is going to change the way we live in our home and get use out of space that was minimally used.
The results are beautiful and well be referring our neighbors to Lawrence and looking to him first on any future projects.

We are truly thrilled that we found Larry at Distinctive Kitchen Designs to design our dream kitchen. Never in our wildest dreams did we think we would end up with this amazing transformation. We went from having a small galley kitchen to this amazing open concept.
We met with a few kitchen designers before we met with Lawrence at Distinctive Kitchen Designs and we immediately connected with him & felt trust with him. When we first met Lawrence, he listened to what we had in mind and a few days later he came back with incredible blueprints with amazing details. He even added special touches just by picking up on our interests during our meeting. For example, he observed my husband was a big coffee drinker so he made sure to add a barista station in the blueprint plans. Things I would never even think of, he shown us so many possibilities. Once the project commenced, Lawrence made sure everything ran smooth. From the demo, to the electric, plumbing, floor resurfacing, cabinet install, countertop install, he stayed in contact the whole time making sure everything was going well. He would inspect everything to make sure it was perfect and if we were satisfied every step of the way. We were blown away by the quality of service from Distinctive Kitchen Designs. Don’t consider anyone else! Call Lawrence Lambert! He not only does kitchens but he does bathrooms as well. I can’t wait to work with him again when we do our bathroom upgrades.

Lawrence was a pleasure to work with from the beginning till the end. I love the turnkey aspect of our kitchen project, which made it easy from the design to the final installation. Lawrence also allowed us with the flexibility to work with our own plumbing and electrical contractors which allowed for cost savings as we had a significant discount incentive to do so. The quality of the cabinets and countertops are excellent. We also love the cabinet features that usually come at an extra cost but not with Lawrence, all inclusive is what you get. The communication was excellent and the actual work was on schedule and as originally quoted which is rare nowadays. I highly recommend Distinctive Kitchen Designs, you will love it!

I would absolutely hire Lawrence again! He came up with great solutions to some of our space limitations (studio apartment kitchen remodel). He was thorough and communicative throughout the entire process. The prices were very reasonable and it turned out beautifully! He was great to work with and I would definitely recommend him.

Lawrence was amazing, from the design process to the completion of our gorgeous kitchen. I wanted a new, white kitchen and although I couldn't visualize what I wanted, Lawrence could--his design was spot-on right out of the gate, and he even thought of a few things I had not considered. He was very conscious of my budget and careful not to suggest things that would put us over. From a cost perspective, he was reasonable. He had a great design sense and helped me with selections. He was easily the most trusted contractor we have ever worked with. The destruction and installation process went well, and I was so surprised when on the first two days, all of the old kitchen cabinets were not only removed, but a good deal of the new ones were already installed. Keep in mind we were not making any layout changes. The installer was not only professional and meticulous (and I am *extremely* particular), but he was on time every day and very clean. We were concerned about our 'just refinished' hardwoodfloors but Lawrence and his team were extremely careful about laying down barriers so we would not have any issues (and we did not). Lawrence was accurate about his timing estimations and our project was completed on time. Our kitchen still wows me when I walk into it every day, and I am so thankful we found Lawrence to do the job! (please note that the photo I added was before our own painter came in to touch up a few spots on the wall and ceiling)

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I believe in trying to charge a fair price for my work. I spend allot of time on each project. My customers tell me that my prices are fair. My average kitchens with labor runs between $24,000 to $39,000 depending on size and customer preferences.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Setting up an onsite meeting. The first meeting, I start by asking the clients what is their style and vision of their new kitchen. I have a questionnaire I go through covering all items. I take fine measurements of the space. If walls are going to be removed I will go into the basement to see if the wall is supported by a beam or if plumbing is running through the walls to be removed. I will draw a new design for the project, so we will have a second meeting where I present the drawings and pricing.

I worked as a custom cabinet maker for over 15 years and I have worked as a kitchen designer for 25 years now.
