Yoga at Connie's

Introduction: Yoga at Connie’s is in a refurbished barn located at 5242 Niantic Rd. Latham, IL. We are the first yoga studio in the Decatur area. Our classes offer vinyasa flow style with some iyengar yoga that works on physical alignment. Our classes are invigorating and physically challenging, with a focus on breath, some strength, flexibility, and balance. The costs of my classes have nothing to do with the lack of knowledge, training or being athletically active. Teaching yoga offers me the challenge and joy of self-discovery, and it allows me to contribute to the society. I want to see all social levels, whether it is income, education, wealth or occupation, have the opportunity to receive the health benefits from yoga. One of my favorite Gandhi quotes about teaching is as follows: "A teacher who establishes rapport with the taught becomes one with them, learns more from them than he teaches them. He who learns nothing from his disciples is, in my opinion, worthless. Whenever I talk with someone I learn from him, I take from him more than I give him. In this way, a true teacher regards himself as a student of his students. If you will teach your pupils with this attitude, you will benefit much from them.”
