I have a vast experience as a performer and teacher of 18 years. I've taught complete beginners (both children and adults), Broadway touring performers, classical singers, and singer song-writers who have produced albums. I love seeing singers grow, gain confidence, and expand their talent beyond what they thought they were capable of! I teach both private lessons, and online group lessons. Group lessons are an excellent way for someone with little or no experience to get started without paying to costs of private lessons. Private lessons are excellent for those who are already working on specific songs to continue honing in on improving your sounds and working on performance aspects. Whatever you choose, you will be learning solid vocal technique, as well as performance. I also teach sight singing to those who wish to learn. Singers who wish to enter competitions must be enrolled in private (online or in person) lessons.

I just wanted to thank you for everything this summer. By the end of last semester, I was so frustrated with trying to turn my voice into what I wanted it to be that I forgot why I was singing in the first place. Working with you helped me figure out what I could be capable of, and now I have a realistic way of achieving it. I’ve spent two years trying to change my voice into something it wasn’t, but now I think that there might be a place for my type of voice in musical theater, even if it takes awhile to figure out exactly what that is. I’m excited about singing again, and for a lot of last year, that wasn’t the case. Thank you for helping me get to that point!

First, I’d like to call myself a hobbyist where singing is concerned. However, it has always been a part of my life. Singing around the house or with friends at open mic events has always brought me much joy! Having said that, I’ve always been a bit self conscious about the quality of my voice. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Piano and Voice students commit to each semester. Tuition is charged per semester (we do not offer drop in lessons)
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
In private lessons, I ask singers what their short and long term goals are so that we can formulate a plan to obtain those goals. After hearing a singer sing a song or perform some simple warmups, I will determine what aspects of technique we should begin with.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Master of Music Bachelor of Music Singing Voice Specialist I've been a member and board member of the National Association for Teachers of Singing for years. I helped create the Chicago Music Theater competition, and continuously seek to improve as a teacher.
