- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
3 Factors Make Your Estimate = Hourly Labor + Travel time / Truck fee + Packing (as needed) 1. OUR HOURLY LABOR CHARGES: The actual moving cost is based on an hourly rate which begins when the crew arrives at your first location and includes loading, travel to the destination and unloading. There is a 2 1/2 hour minimum for every job. After that, the time is prorated every fifteen minutes. PLEASE NOTE: if the dates are not available there will be a higher pick hourly rate used. 2. TRAVEL TIME / TRUCK FEE: A one-time fee that covers truck, fuel and the cost of our crew getting to your first location and returning to our office from your destination. Cost is based on total miles between your home locations to our office @ same hourly fee as above 3. PACKING: (charged only as needed) Elite will wrap all the furniture with moving pads for free. Tape to hold the pads onto the furniture is $4.00 per roll. Mattresses & box springs must be in plastic mattress covers. If you don't have them, we'll provide them at $15/cover. All items that can fit into a box must be in a box. Any glass / marble (TVs, doors, shelves, table tops, mirrors, lamps, pictures) need to be protected with cardboard. Our movers come prepared with 70 various sized boxes for sale. Packing service is available at an additional cost. Our Equipment: For every move, we send a 26 ft. truck equipped with lift gate (usually sufficient for a standard 3 bedroom house). Please speak with our office if an additional truck is needed.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Communication is the key for working with new customers. We would like to gather as many details as possible about the move and what client is looking to achieve, so we could provide with the right estimate and the services needed for a successful move. For long distance moves we do need an inventory of all the items that do not fit into a moving box and an estimated number of boxes. For a local move we would need to know the number and description of the rooms that are moving along with the approximate SF of the house. We can also provide an onsite to help with the accuracy of the information. In person or virtual.
