FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
For short consultations, where the client needs only a color consultation or help narrowing down selections, I charge an hourly rate. For more involved projects, I provide a project fee for the design, drawings, and follow-up meetings with contractors and the client. I help clients procure furniture, art, accessories, and window treatments as needed. My clients are welcome to shop elsewhere, but I help them stretch their budget so that they can complete the room as designed.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We need to talk! My initial consultation is free of charge because first we need to find out if we are the right fit. Tell me what you need, who uses your space, how you use it, the level of maintenance that you are willing to commit, and, of course, your budget and timeline. I won't give you design advice during the free consultation, but I will provide a preliminary plan of how we would execute the project. If we decide to work together, we'll schedule a time to review the contract scope, take pictures and measurements, and then I create a design.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I earned a BFA in Interior Design from Harrington College of Design and the LEED-AP Accreditation from the USGBC. I also maintain CEUs (continuing education requirements) for ASID and IIDA. This is great for me and especially for my clients.
