I can’t say enough good things about Steven. My HS freshman was having some issues with Algebra. Since starting tutoring with Steven she feels much more confident and it’s showing in her work and attitude. He’s really patient, encouraging and really knows how to explain tough concepts to make it easier for her to understand. One thing I really appreciate is that he’s always willing to assist her even outside of their scheduled sessions. He sends reference notes after every session for her to review as needed. I’m so glad we found Steven as her tutor, and we’ll definitely stay with him for the long haul.

My son (in 7th grade algebra) really enjoys Steven's tutoring. Steven is encouraging, patient, and clear and articulate in the way he teaches concepts. Steven really knows his math! He's also not so stern that my son can't be a silly kid, but he knows how to get my son to focus. Importantly, he's also very flexible and willing to stay in the session until my son grasps the concepts!

Steven has been helping my 11th grade son succeed in Precalculus. As a recently dismissed student from Special Education, my son has been struggling to get through this class. He's a smart boy, but when you get lost in Precalculus, it can be difficult to recover. That's where Steven has come in. He has helped my son understand the "why" behind all of the steps. In addition, he doesn't just sit and perform all of the steps. After he has explained and reviewed, he has him tell him how to solve the problem. This makes it stick with him. We will be asking Steven to help him until he recovers his grades. This may be for the remainder of the school year, but it's worth it! Thanks, Steven!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My first step is to setup a quick phone or video call with the customer introducing myself and telling them a bit about myself. After introductions, I would like to get a description of the areas of focus that way we can focus on a plan to tackle those areas!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a mechanical design engineer with a Masters in Mechanical Engineering. My entire career is all about the power of mathematics. I often volunteer at local middle schools and my church community to assist with mathematic tutoring.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
This type of "work" came as naturally to me as mathematics did. I would like to help develop the minds of the younger generation in the same manner mine was.
