Very unprofessional, she never showed up herself. Had a guy come that barely looked like a clown and was very mean to the children. He'd make balloons and pop them. At which I had to set him straight. He was very boring and he played music off a boom box you could barely hear. It was the only regret and biggest Considering I was charged 200 bucks for a clown for my daughters birthday and got a wreck. It was awful

This had to be at least three years old. And she doesn't state the clown's name so I don't know who it was. The 2 guys I had were very profesional Guys I had had good personalities. You can read the differences in the comments.

We had Sweet Patootie for my granddaughters 5th birthday party on November 16th, 2013. I found Sweet Patootie just that "SWEET"! The 20 kids loved her and had so much fun! She was here for a hour and a half. Made balloons and remade them when several little ones kept popping them. We danced, danced, danced! She was so much fun, I even got up and danced with her and the kids. My granddaughter really loved having her here. Thank you for making her Birthday special! We were happy you had time to stay for cake!

Thank you Andrea for your kind words. I too enjoyed the games and dancing! It has been a long time since I danced so much! And thanks for the cake! ;)

Do everyone a favor and retire. She was miserable, grouchy and mean to the kids. She emailed me an apology and stated she was bipolar and didn't take her meds that day! Her face painting was amateur level and swords were very bad. For $150 I paid for 1.5 hours I was expecting a happy clown that would make the kids laugh, not a clown that would make the kids even say she wasn't nice. Parents noticed and they all complained to me...I was mortified.
A Clown Called Sweet Patootie's reply
I DID take my meds that day. Every day. I also took some herbal "happy campers" to help elevate my mood but they did not work. I'm a smartypants with the kids at times. Didn't mean to be mean, meant to be funny. I was not miserable. I was smiling and laughing with the kids. As for my swords.I saw another clowm making them at a event and the kids loved them! They were made with larger balloons that I found most kids love. They kept asking for swords so they must have liked them. Some were asking for non blown up balloons.I gave a couple. Then turned them down.Esp. when one boy wanted 4 of them! My face painting may have been due to a stroke I had in 2010. Sometimes it's great...some times not. I'm not a professional face painter or artist....I'm a clown expected to face paint, twist balloons and perform magic and I do my best everytime. So sorry you were unhappy. Will try harder next time.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

My first hour is the most difficult to charge as I figure out how many children I have to enterain and how far I have to travel and charge accordingly. My 1.5 hr. and 2 hours are always the same no matter how many kids or how far I travel. I always prefer the 1.5 hour party which is my value party as I feel it gives enough time to do my job better and not rushed.More time for fun!!!

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

Most parties consist of facepainting and animal balloons. The kids and I will perform some magic if you book that. Game is Hot Potato, then Limbo and Freeze Dance. ALL this depends on time and number of kids. If you want more you need to book more time. Sorry I no longer have a helper. Hard to find one.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Understand that about 3 minutes are needed for each face painting and 1-2 minutes per balloon . Allow time as some balloons break. Add that to the amouint of children invited and then you'll know how much time you'll need a clown .It's best to have extra time than not enough for every child to get both things.A stressed out clown is not a happy clown.1hour=12 children 1.5 hours13-20 Children 2 hours-21-30 children If you have many children and only want 1 hour, figure out what activity is most important and go with that. Talk it over with the clown.
