FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I prefer to charge by the square foot. I find that way of charging is much more transparent than charging by the day or the hour. It helps me figure out material costs and labor cost depending on what sample we end up going with. I like to include the material cost in that square foot price. I can also offer a range of textures that simulate more expensive textures for less per square foot. I am flexible and I love to work with clients to fit into their budget. I charge a base fee for a 1-2 hour service such as choosing colors for your home or hanging art.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to talk to a customer on the phone to get a sense of what the project is in scope and what the client is looking for. I love to answer any questions that the client may have concerning pricing, job turnover, process, scheduling and any other subjects that come up related to the project. Once we have spoken, if it feels like it’s a good fit I encourage the client to either ******* or ******** pictures of the existing job site and their inspirations or detailed information they would like to share. I can begin to get a sense of what an estimate & timeline would look like. At that point we will have more communication to decide when I can come on site to the job location and take measurements, potentially choose colors and get to know the client and their aesthetic. At that point, I would take a down payment for materials in order to make samples based on our meeting and set up a another date when I can come and look at the samples with the client in person. Once the sample is approved, I will send the client an estimate based on the cost of that sample per square foot and once that is approved, I will get a down payment to start the work and we decide on the start date!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a bachelors in fine art from the Rhode Island school of design. I have worked for experienced muralists, mosaic artists, interior designers contractors, and clients for over 20 years. I also worked as a day player for the local 476 film and television union Painting scenic work for two different shows. The amount of techniques and processes I have learned to do has given me invaluable work experience.
