Located in Willowbrook, I love helping students grow and excel in music! I believe lessons should be fun and enjoyable! Having taught for 15+ years, I've been trained in piano pedagogy and watched my students win competitions, perform in talent shows, and play for church events. I specialize in teaching kids & teens to read music, as well as helping them learn some of their favorite songs (Disney, Imagine Dragons, Taylor Swift, Kpop Demon Hunters, and more!).

Katie is a gentle and kind teacher. My kids, ages 4/5, 9, 11 all looked forward to piano lessons. I've never seen them so excited about any private lessons until working with Katie, she has a talent for encouraging all styles of learners. Their lessons with her sparked a desire to learn and appreciate music. It also has had benefits beyond the Arts. My youngest previously needed therapy to strengthen fine motor skills. Katie was patient and gave appropriate exercises to develop the strength needed for the keyboard and she is improving! My middle child had previously made progress with a reading specialist (aka dyslexia) and we found learning to read music and the progressive approach in the music books Katie picked for each kids need/levels have had a tremendous impact on her tracking during reading! Finally, my oldest has sensory disorders and the compassionate instruction and guidance Katie offered has helped us all as a family. We are so thankful to have found an instructor like Katie!

Katie is such a patient and wonderful teacher. One of the things I appreciate about her the most is her willingness to work with me on the things I’m interested in. If I come with a specific question or particular challenge, she’s always very supportive and will find ways to make things easier and fun!

Piano lessons are a great investment in your child's future! I charge $43/lesson, which usually comes out to $129-172/month. I offer a discount for the 3rd student in the family.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Once we cover the initial details, we'll set up a trial lesson, so you can get started asap!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts: Psychology. Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
