Andy clearly cares about his students’ success. He is patient and supportive. He offered practical tips to make the hours our child spent practicing more effective, and made time for our child to explore a variety of musical genres. Andy is professional in every interaction, and we could not recommend him more highly.

Andy is an amazing teacher and has been providing me the skills and best practices required to learn piano as a beginner. He is very professional and has the attributes one would look for in a teacher. I highly recommend him.

Andrew is the best piano teacher I have ever had. I learned more from him in 3 years than I did in my previous 13 years of lessons. His passion for music is contagious, and it’s a pleasure to learn from someone so talented!

I think that Andrew Maya was a great piano teacher. He helped me whenever I needed help and really pushed me when I needed the extra step to succeed. He understood what kind of piano pieces I liked and would provide me with music that I genuinely enjoyed. Even when I thought a piece sounded good to me, Mr. Maya always had advice to make it even better, even if it was just to play a little louder or to have a softer touch with my hands. It all helped me in the end to be a great piano player and there is no doubt that Andrew Maya will help others succeed as well.

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I set my pricing based on my years of experience teaching, my credentials, and the different practice methods that I can teach in order to speed up the rate of learning the piano.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I generally start with asking students what goals they have in mind with learning the piano, and then focus on overcoming troublespots in their playing by means of different practice methods that I have learned either from other teachers or on my own.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Masters in Music in collaborative piano from Illinois State University, a Bachelor's of music performance from Aurora University, and a certificate in service playing from the American Guild of Organists.
