FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I base my pricing on how long I estimate the project to take by hour and have a form I can email on request to potential clients with a cost breakdown and time estimate before I begin a project. I do have a fee for extensive modifications to illustrations but not for minor alterations.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The process I usually use for any client is to first discuss the project at hand, the timeframe the client needs and other project details. From there I work out a time and cost estimate breakdown to review with the client before proceeding with the project. I will usually send a sketch or concept art to the client for review before working on the finished project. Once a project is completed, I email screenshots to the client and apply any feedback. Please Note: I do apply a fee for extensive alterations but not for minor ones. For example, if you asked me for an illustration of a lion and decided after the project is complete that you wanted to change it to a tiger instead, I would then apply a fee but would not if all you wanted changed was to make the lion's nose red instead of pink.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor's Degree of Fine Arts in Illustration and Design from the Illinois Institute of Art in Schaumburg and I previously owned a small Illustration business based in Illinois.
