Introduction: Having an accomplished staff that I've worked with for over 25 years gives us an edge. We just recently put a wedding for 100 together in 3 weeks, including dress consultation & fitting, invitations, rsvps, venues, florist, caterer, cake, musicians, hair, nail & make-up appointments, photographer, limo service, wedding night reservations, all decorations & provided clean up. Bride is a very busy professional & did not have the time to handle the details. We put the package together for her. We can do it all, or we can do minimal amounts. It is your day, your choice. I have always loved planning parties & the design that goes with it. I work best under pressure, which makes me very useful in wedding & party environments. I handle all of the last minute crisis, & believe me, there always is one! I am very good at "putting out fires" and my work in design allows me to provide artistic ideas. I am very familiar with both formal & informal settings & can handle both comfortably. We recently turned a very dated and unattractive building, which was going to house a reception into a beautiful fairyland with just a few inexpensive tricks. I love seeing everyone's face when they walk into a room we've decorated.

I charge a flat rate based on the size and length of the event
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am constantly monitoring design styles, colors and trends. But I think a wedding is very personal, & if the bride wants something that "isn't in style" she makes that call. Ultimately, designing & decorating are very personal & should reflect the individual's taste, not just the current styles. A year ago, grey and yellow fabric were on every piece of furniture. Although grey has remained popular because it is a neutral color, you don't see the combination anymore. It didn't even make it a full year.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have done parties, decorating, weddings, etc. over the years for friends. Finally, someone looked at me & said, "You really need to do this professionally!" So here I am.
