FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
At Helping Hands Living Solutions, our pricing is fully customized to each customer's unique needs, home layout, and the specific modifications or products required for aging in place. We don't have fixed prices listed on our website because every project is tailored—whether it's installing a stair lift, ramp, grab bars, walk-in shower, smart home devices, or other products that suit your specific needs. Instead, we offer free consultations and quotes to provide an accurate, personalized cost estimate. You can request one by calling us or filling out the form on our site.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
At Helping Hands Living Solutions, we follow a proven 6-step process to ensure a smooth, personalized experience for every new customer. Our goal is to help you or your loved one age in place safely and independently, with customized solutions tailored to your home and needs. Here's how it typically works: Step 1: Free Phone Consultation It all starts with a simple, no-pressure call. We'll chat about your situation—whether you're a senior, veteran, caregiver, or family member—and discuss any mobility challenges, safety concerns, or ideas you have (like installing a stair lift, ramp, grab bars, or remodeling a bathroom). We focus on listening to your needs, budget, and timeline before offering guidance. Step 2: In-Home Assessment & Walkthrough If it seems like a good fit, we'll schedule a free in-home visit at a time that works for you (we serve Metro East Illinois area). During this assessment, we'll measure spaces like doorways, stairs, and bathrooms; identify potential fall risks or accessibility issues; and recommend practical, affordable solutions. We'll also cover topics like permits, financing options, and VA benefits if applicable, while thinking ahead to future-proof your home. Step 3: Detailed Proposal & Pricing Based on the assessment, you'll get a clear, itemized quote outlining the full scope of work (e.g., specific products like a curved stair lift for 12 steps), materials, labor, any permits, and a payment schedule (typically deposit, progress payments, and final). Everything is transparent—no hidden fees. You can review and sign the proposal digitally or in person, and we'll proceed once we receive your deposit. Step 4: Pre-Installation Preparation Behind the scenes, our team handles the logistics: ordering custom equipment (such as ramps, walk-in showers, or mobility aids), securing any necessary permits, scheduling our crew, and preparing based on your unique walkthrough notes. We make sure everything is ready for a seamless start. Step 5: Installation Our professional, insured, and background-checked installers arrive on time and treat your home with respect—protecting floors and furniture, cleaning up daily, and removing all debris. We provide updates throughout and aim to minimize any disruption to your daily life. The timeline varies by project but is always outlined in advance. Step 6: Training, Final Walkthrough, & Sign-Off Once complete, we'll train you or your caregiver on how to use any new equipment safely. We'll do a thorough walkthrough to ensure everything meets your expectations, handle any minor adjustments on the spot, and provide warranty information with your final invoice. If unexpected changes arise during the project, we use fair, written change orders—no surprises. This process is designed to be collaborative and stress-free, with a focus on quality and your satisfaction. We also assist with VA funding programs for eligible veterans to help offset costs. If you're ready to get started or have questions, give us a call or request a quote through our website.
