Hi! I’m Emily. Thanks for taking the time to visit my profile. I’m glad you’re here! I am a mother of four little girls, and I live with my husband and family in the suburbs of Chicago. Crafting updated resumes and cover letters is a creative exercise that I genuinely enjoy. In fact, I have a passion for all forms of the written and spoken word! After completing my Bachelor of Arts degree in English at Hillsdale College, I went on to work for several different organizations that allowed me to hone my writing skills. As such, I have a strong background in academic and creative writing, and I have helped many people in a variety of different industries secure the positions they wanted. I specialize in ATS (applicant tracking system) compatibility, keyword placement, and drafting excellent personal summaries. To date, I have successfully written 300+ resumes/cover letters. I have also worked as a freelancer for a professional resume/cover letter writing company, in addition to being named among Thumbtack's "Top Pros” in the resume writing category. What sets me apart from other writers is my ability to see in my clients what they do not see in themselves. Each client is unique and has a professional/personal history different than any other individual. I enjoy helping clients capture their strengths, downplay any perceived weaknesses, and create a set of professional documents that truly shine and stand out to potential employers. I care about each of my clients and their future professional/personal goals. I enjoy conversing with them, getting to know them, and getting to the root of “what makes them special.” I am not part of a “resume mill”—I work for myself and I have the freedom and ability to dedicate my time and attention to improving resumes, one client at a time. Emily was great. She completely revamped my resume and made it much more interesting to read and more computer friendly for me to submit it online to companies.
