Introduction: My rates are as follows: - $40/hr. at a student's home within 10 miles of Wood Dale, IL - $20/hr. at my studio in Wood Dale - $15/30-minute lesson via Skype I am a guitar teacher with over 10 years of experience teaching all different styles of music, including blues, folk, acoustic, funk, ska, rock, metal, melodic, country, classical, punk, alternative, and various other melodies. I have played concerts all over the state of Illinois, and I have taught many students throughout the years. I teach beginning, intermediate, and advanced players. I am very passionate at what I do, and I will guide you through the proper steps in becoming a great guitar player. Playing music takes a lot of time and patience as well as a lot of practice playing by yourself and in front of people. I am very relaxed and motivated to help my students learn, and I will guide you through everything. I would prefer that students bring their own guitars, so that you would be more comfortable playing their own instrument. If you can't or do not have one, I have guitars here that you may use but during our sessions only. Check out my video. With a lot of practice and a lot of studying, I can show you how to play like a pro and have fun! Lesson Details In my curriculum, students will start off by learning the basics of the guitar, knowing the parts and accessories and so forth. Then, we will move on to tuning and perfect pitch. As we move on, students will learn how to build and maintain a rhythm. Learning how to play chords is essential, and we will be going through chord progressions and how to recognize and memorize the various chords. Furthermore, I will be showing students how to read tabs and write music. I will be showing students the different types of scales there as well as the keys that they are in for those who want to become soloists. I will also be teaching different techniques that are incorporated with tapping on the fretboard as well as various other techniques. All of these lessons will be taught in our private sessions, and each student will receive homework assignments, so that he/she can go home and practice what he/she has learned. I will be having tests later on, in which I would ask you to play one of your favorite songs. With enough time spent practicing, you can become a master of your instrument. Studio Equipment Basement studio: amps, guitars, wah pedals, music stands, guitar picks, and music sheets. Travel Equipment I have an amp, wires, picks, guitars, gig bag, case, music sheets, picks, and music stands. Specialties Teachers marked as a student favorite have taught a minimum of 25 lessons and have received the highest feedback rating from students. My styles include rhythm and blues, rock, funk, pop, classical, country, classic rock, metal, thrash, alternative, punk rock, folk, and various other melodies.
