I have worked with Clive for 2 four-hour sessions. He provided all materials for a small cost, but I could have brought my own. I learned a lot about color, mixing color, and about composition. I learned to draw with a paintbrush and we dealt with blocking in, shadow and highlight, washing, scrubbing, and wet into wet technique. Outlining and contrast was last of all. After my lessons I practiced at home and successfully created paintings on my own. Working with Clive has expanded my ability and technique. I am braver when I paint! He is an accomplished artist and a mentor as he teaches.Jan 20, 2017VerifiedClive Jachnik Artist's reply

Thank you Jeannie and I greatly enjoyed working with you on this fine still life. Well done to you and please keep up the good work!!! Best wishes Clive
This was my first attempt at painting and Clive was a gracious teacher. I learned 1) which brushes are necessary and how to hold them, 2) how to arrange my color palette and not to be stingy with paint (in Clive's words "paint like you're a millionaire, even if you're not"), 3) the benefit of starting with a sketch 4) the importance of outlines but knowing they change. Honestly, it was a lot of information to take in, but very helpful. I met my goal of learning enough to start practicing on my own at home. I think this would have been helpful even if I had a background in painting, but it's certainly beginner friendly.Apr 7, 2017VerifiedClive Jachnik Artist's reply

Private watercolor art instruction for group of 9 people. Clive is a wonderful artist and gentleman! He was so patient, very instructive and FUN! Our group loved him. He is so talented. Was exactly what we were looking for. And such an interesting person. Engage him for your art instruction needs. You won't be sorry and will no doubt make a new friend as did we. Thank you a million times over Clive!Apr 10, 2017VerifiedClive Jachnik Artist's reply
