Old fashioned work ethic and customer service! I treat my client as I'd want to be treated myself. I listen to my client's ideas and understand what they want from their portraits before I even pick up the cameras. My pricing structure is straight-forward, even when purchasing prints or other items. I do not play the "credits" or "packages" game! I keep my prices very reasonable on prints, photo books, canvases, etc. This allows each customer to get exactly what they want without being forced into a package that does not meet their needs. Most of my clients are repeat customers or come from client referrals. I attribute this to being honest, professional and responsive. I use only professional level cameras, lenses and lighting, and have a full service studio. This is important, as it demonstrates a commitment to the trade and to my customers. I am also an FAA licensed Commercial UAS (drone) Pilot, and have aerial 4K video and photographic capabilities. This is great for weddings, architectural photography, land survey and commercial applications. Note: Federal law requires that ALL commercial drone work be done by an FAA licensed pilot. I love the work I do because of the people I get to meet. I love their stories! From a creative perspective, everyone has a different idea about their portraits and what they want from them. I enjoy the challenge that comes with exceeding those expectations. I like offering my ideas and collaborating with my clients to get something different and special!

Allen has been exceptional to work with on this project. He was onsite shooting aerial photos and drone footage in less than 24 hours. He has invested many hours in developing a top notch video presentation and aerial tour of our property. In addition to a high quality final product, Allen is extremely knowledgeable in his field, and takes into consideration numerous factors to make sure that the conditions are perfect for optimal footage and photos. He was very flexible on price, as the project was more demanding than originally thought when I described it. We will definitely be utilizing his services on future projects. Highly recommended!

From the moment Allen and I first connected, I could tell he was professional, dedicated, and committed to capturing all my ideas for our family photo shoot, and his passion for his work was also very apparent. Allen and I first spoke by phone to discuss ideas, and he followed up with me to confirm our plans as our date grew closer. Our family of three had limited dates for the shoot and I wanted an outdoor session, so Allen was kind enough to not only monitor the weather very closely, but he also provided us with two dates in case the first one got rained out. It was very considerate of him to dedicate two weekend evenings to a family photo shoot! When the date arrived, Allen was very prepared and very patient as we arrived later than planned. He had some great ideas in mind since we were shooting at several locations downtown, so it was an adventure that lasted all evening! Allen worked so well with our 5 year old to keep her engaged and he laughed along with the rest of us as she played, ran, and sometimes even posed for pictures! As we ventured around downtown to the different locations, we found a few unplanned areas and shot there also. I had requested both candid and posed photos, and Allen did a wonderful job capturing pretty much every single moment throughout the evening! He had his camera ready at all times and it was such a joy to see our photo gallery with all the moments he captured. The gallery was ready for us to review by the next morning and even included a few retouched photos just to give us an idea of what they would look like. We were given over 500 shots to chose from! We will receive all of them in downloadable format, 20 of them which we chose will be retouched, and I will be using Allen's photo lab for prints as he does not inflate the price like many photographers do. If you're looking for a true professional that is sincerely and passionately working to meet his client's needs, then please choose Allen as your photographer. His customer service is outstanding, his pricing is reasonable, his skills and creativity are unprecedented, and he is such a joy to work with!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing is based on time, but any professional photographer will want to know as much detail as possible. Are there special requirements, what equipment to bring, what lighting is required, what time is the photo shoot (for natural light photography, this is critical), how many people (more people simply takes longer), etc.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I always offer a no-cost, no obligation consultation on any job. On larger or complex jobs, I prefer to meet for the consult in person. Once I understand the client needs and what the location requires in terms of equipment, I am better prepared to exceed client expectations. Once the photo session or shoot has been completed, I upload the images to a secure online gallery. After the client has chosen the poses, I professionally re-touch the images. The images are then output to meet the client's intended use (example, prints, web, 4-color process printing, etc.). I have absolutely no problem traveling to a client's location for a session or a consultation. If the client does not have a location in mind, I have many different locations for practically any need. I also have a very well equipped studio only minutes from downtown Louisville. Visa, MasterCard, AMEX accepted.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have 20+ years experience in a myriad of photography genres. I am also an expert-level re-toucher and re-touch my own images. Too many workshops and other training to begin to list them. B.S. in Visual Communications, have worked as an Art Director for one of the areas largest Advertising Agencies. FAA Licensed Commercial UAS (drone) pilot.
