- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge $65 per hour if seen locally. I do not bill insurance, although if you request, I will provide you with documentation to turn into your insurance. If I were to do a home visit, the hour begins from the time I leave home to the time I leave your house. Payment is due upon completion of services.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My profession requires me to obtain 40 hours of continuing education per two year cycle. I typically acquire more than that.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was on my own journey of self discovery while in college in my twenties. I had seen a couple of different counselors and felt as I left their office the one and only time that I was "smarter" than they were. I went to someone a friend suggested, and she asked a few questions, listened closely and at the end said one thing that sent my mind reeling. I felt this woman looked inside me, and actually saw ME. I continued to work with her off and on over the years, and she was my inspiration for going into this line of work. We have stayed in contact throughout my career, until she recently fell ill, and is unable to communicate any longer. I have thought of her as more than my therapist, but also as my mentor and my friend. I learned a great deal from her about relationship.
