FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing reflects structured, curriculum-based instruction in addition to informal tutoring. Tutoring sessions are $25 per hour, and I also offer a discounted 10-session package (20% savings) for students seeking consistent weekly practice. Structured courses are offered as 20-hour programs ($600) or 50-hour programs ($1,500). Courses are designed as complete learning experiences and are typically paid in full before the start date. Payment plans are available upon request, with a non-refundable deposit required to reserve your place. I offer a complimentary initial consultation to discuss goals, determine level, and ensure the program is the right fit. There are no hidden fees, and scheduling policies (including a 24-hour cancellation notice) are clearly outlined before enrollment. Current course rates reflect a limited-time founding pricing structure.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We begin with a complimentary consultation to clarify goals and expectations. Many students initially express interest in “conversation,” and part of our first discussion involves defining what that truly means for them, whether it relates to travel, academic needs, professional development, or personal enrichment. We also discuss time commitment and consistency, as meaningful language progress requires regular engagement both during sessions and independently. I take time to understand how each student learns best, whether through visual support, listening practice, structured explanations, interactive activities, or other tools. During the consultation, I assess the student’s current level through guided discussion and sample questions in French. We conclude with personalized recommendations and a clear plan for next steps.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a B.A. in French Linguistics and Literature from Belgium, as well as both an M.A. and an Ed.S. in Curriculum & Instruction. My academic background combines deep language expertise with advanced training in instructional design and educational methodology. With over 25 years of experience in language teaching and curriculum development, I have consistently engaged in professional research, conferences, and ongoing professional development. This combination of subject mastery and pedagogical training allows me to design structured, purposeful programs that support meaningful and sustained language growth.
