Introduction: Hello, and thank you for stopping by my page. I have been a professional resume writer for over 10 years, and recently added coaching to my toolbox. I specialize in working with people who are just entering the job market, who are re-entering after a planned or unplanned abscence, and people who feel they would like to change career paths and need clarity and an exit strategy for doing so. In addition, I include financial coaching in the mix; many people stay in jobs that they hate because of the money. With good financial coaching, I help people grow an emergency fund that will allow them to move to another position without giving up essentials (like eating!). The basis of my work is positive psychology - the idea that you are the expert when it comes to your own life, and you are the best person to tap when it comes to creating and implementing solutions. My role is to stimulate your inner genius, hold you accountable for your results and applaud your successes. I take each of those responsibilities quite seriously. I combine one-on-one interaction with (hopefully) fun homework assignments that are designed to move you from where you are to where you choose to be, in your life, your career, your relationships and your spirituality. Although I don't require any client to attend a specific number of sessions, I do recommend beginning with four - that number has been proven time and again to get people to a point where the momentum of change makes the rest of the journey almost effortless. I invite anyone who fits the profile of my ideal client to schedule an initial no-cost consultation. This brief (30 minutes maximum) introductory session helps me to get to know you, your coaching needs and your goals. It allows you to get to know me and ask questions about coaching and what you can expect from me. And it allows us to work together to set the terms if you choose to engage with me as your coach. I work on a sliding scale and strictly on a remote basis, either via video chat or over the telephone. I do offer weekend and evening hours, and work by appointment only. I didn't know what to expect from coaching, or what a coach even was. When I had my first appointment, Jean explained how coaching worked. She even offered to refund my money if I didn't think I got anything out of our sessions. I was pretty impressed with that, and decided to move forward with coaching. After a few sessions, I realized that I was happier and more motivated than I had been for almost a year. I was focusing on solutions instead of complaining about my problems, and I was seeing some good results as well. I felt like I was in better control of things. Life isn't perfect, but it sure is better than it was! Jean does expect people to be on time for their appointment and she respects your time as well. And as long as you are willing to do the work that is involved, you'll get good results. I felt stuck in place in my job, and needed a boost to help me to see my situation more clearly and move forward. Jean's coaching gave me that boost.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I work on a sliding scale, because I believe that those who are in need of coaching should be able to access this service. I work out a fee schedule with a client during our initial consultation, and send this agreement in writing to them prior to the first coaching session. I do ask for payment prior to the first "official" coaching session, as this is my confirmation that the client is on board.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The initial consultation with a client is at no charge, and is designed to allow me to get to know the client, their goals, and their expectations of the coaching process and the coach. It also allows me to set the ground rules of our coaching sessions, discuss fees and schedules and work together to create the ideal coaching arrangement.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I trained through MentorCoach to enhance my coaching skills, and am currently enrolled in hypnotherapy coursework. I found that overcoming certain pain points requires more than just talking a client through them. My undergraduate studies included earning a minor in behavioral psychology.
