FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Most of our work is bid. After communicating with the client in person, we establish what the customer desires, then price the job accordingly. We will then write the specifications for the description of the work on a written proposal along with the price. Usually any variable in the work will be in writing on the proposal as an alternate, so that if the customer decides to alter the work, that work is already in writing and the price for it is already established. We do not ask for any money upfront, unless your project require a large amount of materials. Only pay for the work when the job is complete, and you are completely satisfied. I do not recommend a contractor who asks for money up front. We do accept credit cards for payment, but please note that we charge the customer the 3% that the credit card company takes off of the top of our payment. This enables us to keep our prices low and only add that cost to the clients that use that service.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to meet existing and new customers face to face and view the project in person. It is difficult to price a project without seeing the amount of work required. You can learn from photographs, but it is more fair (for myself and for the proposed client) to view the work, the surroundings and access to the work in person. I have regularly met with clients in the evenings or weekends to accommodate their schedule.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
