Marlene, I’m genuinely disappointed to see this review, especially considering that no work was ever performed, no contract was signed, and there was never any charge to you for the considerable amount of time I spent evaluating your property and preparing your preliminary estimates. I drove approximately one hour each way to your home on a Friday evening and spent approximately 2.5 hours thoroughly inspecting the property. This included inspecting the roof, spending approximately 20 minutes inside an attic that was over 100 degrees, and evaluating numerous interior and exterior areas of the home because you requested preliminary pricing for multiple projects. Afterward, I spent approximately another 5 hours reviewing everything and preparing a detailed preliminary budget covering the different projects we discussed. All of this consultation, inspection, travel, and estimating work was provided to you completely free of charge. I was also charged over $200 simply for receiving your inquiry through Thumbtack. I did apologize that the estimates took a few days to complete. I visited your property Friday evening and provided the preliminary estimates the following Wednesday. Considering the number of different projects you asked me to evaluate, I wanted to take the time to provide thoughtful and realistic pricing rather than rush through it. I completely respect your decision if my pricing was outside of your budget or if you preferred to use another contractor. What I find disappointing is receiving a one-star review when we never entered into a contract and I never performed any construction work for you. The only services I provided were many hours of my time, travel, inspection, consultation, and preparation of estimates at absolutely no cost to you. I take tremendous pride in my work and in how I treat potential customers, whether they ultimately hire me or not. I believe the context above is important for anyone reading this review to understand. I hope you’re able to find the right Contractor for your Projects.
