I contacted Thumbtack for my daughter. She is having an issue that requires a professional with Family Law experience. To my surprise, Mr. Shepherd responded very quickly. My daughter called me after she had a conversation with Mr. Shepherd. She was more relaxed than I had seen her in weeks, reassured and very confident that Mr. Shepherd was the person to help her with the issue. I am grateful to Mr. Shepherd for his response time, his taking the time to listen, offer advice and willingness to take on the task at hand. While this issue is in the preliminary stages, it is always good to know that someone with his expertise in Family Law is willing to help. Thank you Mr. Shepherd!
I've had opportunity to warch her in action as a criminal defense attorney. After my first observation...it was clear to me that if i get in trouble...i want HER!!! PASSIONATE, COMMITTED, PREPARED, WELL VERSED IN THE LAW!!! Personally, my family needed family lae help. We called her. Not only was she able to get my husband's custody issue reversed (in his favor), but the child support was reversed as well!! You WANT her in your team!
When I got arrested for a DUI (on a bike), I quickly realized I would need a lawyer. I was referred to John by a common acquaintance. John was quick to answer my first call, and answering any immediate questions I had about my case. My first impression of John was excellent, and I remember feeling very reassured. My case took place in Washington DC. As John began gathering more information about my case, he informed me that I was actually facing jail time, and that we would most likely have to go to trial. The prosecution had a very strong case against me, but John was quick to point out many flaws that could work in our favor in trial. At first, I was quite anxious about the possible jail time, but every time I talked or met with John, I was very impressed by his candidness, optimism, and knowledge. Through the 5 months process, I learned a lot about criminal law, and was quite interested to hear everything John was doing in my defense. He was very quick to answer my emails when I had questions about the case, and would provide updates on the case about every month. He was always on time for court appearances, and always took the time after court to meet with me to talk about anything and everything. In the end, John was able to poke enough holes in the prosecution's case, that they agreed to a plea deal (something they refused up to then). I think that's a reflection of John's excellent work, and I felt good to know that he had finally made the prosecution doubt :). Even though I believe we had a god chance of winning in trial, I decided to take the plea and not roll the dice. John supported my decision either way. Given the circumstances and outcome, I couldn't be happier with John and his work. When you hire John, you get a very competent lawyer, a relentless fighter, and someone who treats you as a human being (as opposed to a case, or a defendant). I really appreciated the human connection with him, and I would 100% recommend John to anyone in need of a defense. I would be more than happy to talk to anyone who is considering his professional services. Thanks, John!
