FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
With photography continuing education is a must! Experience should be constant because photography involves a lot of hands on learning. Even though I focus on weddings, that's not the only thing I shoot. I have learned a lot through experience from shooting families and even nature scenes. Starting 2014 I am a member of Profesional Photographers of America (PPA), and Kansas Professional Photographers of America (KPPA) in which they offer the kind of further education I need and the opportunity to become a certified professional photographer. In June 2014, I went to Kansas Professional Photographers School to take a week long course furthering my education and finishing with the Professional Photographers Exam. I passed the Certified Professional Photographer (CPP) Exam and am currently in the image portfolio submission. Once my images are judged and pass then I will officially be a CPP. I continue my education through KPPA every summer by going to Kansas Professional Photographer School.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
There are many fields of photography in which I have done, but when I shoot a wedding I feel different inside than I do when I am shooting anything else. I am happy, confident, and zealous with even the thought of shooting a wedding. It is a different feeling than any other time I am behind my camera, I come alive when I shoot a wedding like this is what I was meant to do! So I decided to pursue wedding photography as my main field.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
My advice to a client looking for a photographer to shoot their wedding day is to look at their work. Even if they have never shot a wedding you can tell the quality of their work by looking at their finished product.
