FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Experience is, of course, the best education. But, I did teach tilesetting at a technical college in Santa Barbara years ago. Teaching homeowners was a learning experience for me as well.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I'm a "custom" tilesetter, so of course I can do floors. But, the scope of my work is only limited by the customer's imagination and resources. All Tile Walk-in showers are something I seem to be doing a lot of in the last year, as well as Glass-Tile back-splashes in kitchens. I've leveled out floors using the "slip sheet" method, I can level old wood floors this way, to make them ready for any surface: tile, wood or even carpet. NOTE: I only install tile. If you want carpet go to carpet guy, but if you want tile ask a real tilesetter. "Mr. Goodcents" in Emporia is an example of my commercial work, as is the new fountain outside the Emporia Humanitarian Center.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Again, I'm a tilesetter with over thirty years experience. If you want carpet or wood, you should consider a flooring company. If you want a quality tile-job, you should come to someone like myself. I use methods and materials that other flooring companies in this area haven't even heard of. I've had the oppotunity to work on amazing projects over the course of my career in California. I've done work from Beverly Hills, to the private residence of William Randolf Hearst. Don't let someone tell you what you want can't be done, ask me and I'll tell you how it can be done.
